Bodger, who should know better, wants to waste £6000 when people can’t get weeds cut down or pavements repaired in the ward he’s supposed to look after!

 

Conservative bodger Councillor who resides in Alnwick with his friend; When he is supposed to be looking after an area known as Cramlington West 24 mile away is seeking to force an election for his local Parish Council which will cost them £6000 when complaints he is supposed to deal with are ignored due to cost. 

Following the sad demise of long standing and locally adored Labour Councillor, Anne Mitcheson from Cramlington East, the Conservative led Cramlington Town Council’s leaders felt that in order to save the Parish £6000 it would be better to adopt a Labour Councillor put forward by Councillor Mitcheson’s party structure to stand in that area until the next election, rather than spend cash on an election using up finance which would be better steered elsewhere.

Cramlington is plagued by reported and wanted repairs which have been delayed waiting for the County Council to locate and borrow capital finance to do larger areas and much needed zonal repairs on an estate basis as the once labeled ‘New Town’ ages rapidly.

That all sounds fine but with Northumberland County Council fixated on repairs in the more wealthy parts of the County, particularly Morpeth and Alnwick, with the Councils finance officer and her guru’s warning the Council and the public that they must reschedule capital work as they are, in common parlance ‘overborrowing’ and may have difficulty raising enough revenue from Council Taxpayers to pay the capital debt now that the Tories have collapsed the economy nationally.

But Cramlington’s ‘invisible man’ Tory Bodger Councillor Barry Flux has decided that he wants to have an election held at great cost to the Council and his community (who would really like their repairs completed) in order to ‘test’ the area to determine his future standing and ability to receive his hefty Councillor Allowance from Northumberland County Council. 

This is a burden that falls fairly and squarely onto the Cramlington Parish Council and it is expected that Councillor Mitcheson’s supporters will come out to support her replacement as is the norm following the sudden death of a well loved hard working local Councillor.

Councilor Flux would be better off reading Politics.co.uk where he will find that the conservative vote has collapsed in Cramlington and the current MP, Tory darling, Ian Levy is predicted to be in a position of having a 96% chance of losing the Cramlington with Killingworth seat at the next general election.
