After watching the video of Northumberland County Council’s November meeting we at murky must ask if Councillor Sanderson has a flock of geese to sell for xmas? If he hasn't, why is he producing the sauce early?
The meeting was its usual ‘Look at me I’m a Tory’ as the Chairperson Cllr Barry Flux opened with Councillors must keep their questions to a two minute maximum but when it came to Councillor Sanderson he was able to wax lyrical for ages well over the time PRIVATE EYE exposed him for in October 2023.
With the opposition shackled and at some point a future Government will have to apologise for the way this council treats its members who aren’t members of the Tory Party, for their slave-like treatment of democratically elected members of Council. Were surprised that tongue ties and lip clips aren’t issued to opposition members at the start of every meeting. Is it not the Tory Home Office's job to look at the treatment of people nationally to see if this bullying Council should be prosecuted under modern slavery legislation? Or is Morpeth too far North for anyone to bother with?.
But that aside his boast regarding Northumberland County Council being one of the best Councils in England for planning decisions needs a public apology immediately as the Tory Governments own spreadsheets show they aren’t. (link below) and as the developers, estate agents and builders County-wide know, that if a decision is running late a letter is issued asking for more information to put things off for an age or two and the spreadsheets from the Government show that quite well.
Northumberland’s infamy in conning the public and suppressing democracy needs Government inspectors to step in and re-energise the Council and instruct it in the ways democracy has worked since the Ancient Greeks began to develop the model. The first intervention by Max Caller has obviously failed.
Of course the Ancient Greeks never visited Morpeth and felt the Gadgies hatred of outsiders, but it is strange that the outsiders come from the same County so we conclude that the The Localism Act which was designed to strengthen planning authorities' powers to tackle abuses of the planning system, such as deliberately concealing new developments. As well as assisting local people in being able to influence planning decisions, allowing local people to be able to feel the benefits of new development in their neighbourhood only applies to Morpeth and localism needs to be battered into anyone from outside Castle Morpeth District. It must be in the Act but we may have missed it as it is preached and practiced by this Gadgy Mob from Morpeth on a regular and ongoing basis.
