Scandalous ignorance, Downgrading families from Blyth, Ashington, Bedlington & Cramlington.

 

If you were looking for a lesson in getting yourself out of a scandal the last person you would go to would be Councillor Glen Sanderson as his handling of the downgrade of Cramlington when joined with the terrifying continued pressure on families from Ashington and Blyth whilst openly supporting the rise of former Castle Morpeth zones is almost if not actually criminal but possibly very close to being unlawful, and with the Tories everywhere looking to screw society to fill their bank accounts Glen Sandersons mission appears to be to bleed Cramlington, Blyth, Bedlington and Ashington dry to support his birthplace.

Just a few short years ago family incomes linked with longevity showed that residents of Cramlington North not only earned the highest incomes in Northumberland they lived the longest because of it.

Recent earnings releases now show that Cramlington Is no longer the darling of the County and neither in earnings or longevity do residents even enter the top ten of wealthy earners in the Northeast which is now dominated by Glen Sandersons favourites, ex Castle Morpeth Tory voting areas.

The scandal which includes the pouring of so much Council borrowed cash into Ponteland which contains Darras Hall along with Morpeth that everywhere else in the County is shown to be levelling down even those areas where the government has concentrated levelling up schemes, Glen Sanderson has had his teams ensure the schemes support rich investors to the detriment of local residents. Let’s take the purchase of the Keel Row centre in Blyth for an undisclosed sum from the estate of one of the nations richest families, the Duchy of Northumberland. They are so wealthy they managed to find an old master painting worth £ millions in a wash house at one of their palaces.

But support for the rich by the Tories has led to some of the most populated areas the Council controls falling further back as Cowpen in Blyth has been tagged as the poorest place in the Northeast. With the Northeast being the poorest area in the UK Glen has shown that the Tories interest in tackling poverty is non existent and the disgraceful neglect he has shown by forcing down incomes in Cramlington by concentrating on Castle Morpeth townships may be in the words of his former long term partner Councillor Peter Jackson when describing Council activities, “illegal” but even without another Tories open thoughts about  activities at Northumberland County Council it’s scandalous and so disgraceful  that the opposition need to call a special meeting to discuss the matter and give unlimited time for debate forgetting Glens ‘let's keep everything secret’ 10 minute rule which is another scandal picked up by Private Eye last month. 

When this is united with the complete neglect of the Marmot report following the removal in 2017 of the mandatory work put in to prepare the ground from 2013 when Northumberland was accepted as a pilot for change scandalous is probably far too soft a word to use for the regime in power at County Hall these days.
