£130m spent on Morpeth the home patch of the Council's last two Leaders and Deputies of Northumberland County Council with the inequalities dished out by Northumberland Conservatives their partners, the National Tories and ‘Levelling Up’ dangling a mere wonky carrot over the heads of their neighbours in Ashington?
This is a frightening journey from the excesses of Council spend over the last six years in Morpeth to the running down of a once vibrant neighbouring high street and the serious problems of the Ashington ‘hole’ to illustrate the demarcation run out by those same Tories who had bankrupted Castle Morpeth Council in the past with the then District Auditor forcing Wansbeck District Council where Ashington sat, to sort out Castle Morpeth’s mess who were led by Peter Jackson and Glen Sanderson.
We will start with the regal excesses on the ‘Pillars of Power’ at County Hall in Morpeth where annals show that six years ago the Tories began their huge spree with the historic words of Tory Leader Peter Jackson former Castle Morpeth Leader: “It only needs a lick of paint”
Contractors have been working on it ever since:

Morpeth has also gained a much needed brand new first school during this era whilst other areas are still waiting to be given the luxury enjoyed by mainstream pupils in Morpeth
Our Journey takes us next to the about to be opened new fabulous public library in Morpeth which rivals some of the best in the UK.
Morpeth’s population of 14,419. https://www.citypopulation.de/en/uk/northeastengland/northumberland/E63000041__morpeth/#:~:text=Got%20it!,Postal%20code%3A%20NE61%20(%2B)
Morpeth’s residents have been gifted a facility suitable for university Towns with four or five times the number of students than Morpeth has residents, its excessively fabulous:

Our travels now take us on to the ultra-unbelievably expensive-groundbreaking facility for leisure in Morpeth described as Zumba-lubrious by an active member of their local community.
Councillor Glen Sanderson opened the Zumba-lubrious new Leisure Centre in Morpeth.
At this juncture we will travel the four miles over to the neighbouring Town of Ashington whose residents paid for the bailing out of Castle Morpeth Council following its bankruptcy.
With the help of its Parish Council, Ashington, has in private been forced to develop ‘little society’ the complete opposite of David Cameron's BIG dream. They have worked tirelessly since May 2017 to hold back the tide of desolation anointed on them by the Conservatives winning power at County Hall with the Morpeth Mafia’s lodge based mantra of ‘Morpeth First’ always ringing in their ears, but things are becoming harder each year to maintain the Towns status with no access to cash.
The first thing stopped in May 2017 when the Gadgy mob from Morpeth took over the County Council was the relocation to Ashington as a central location in a modern cheap to run brand new building. With offices being reopened in all of the Counties Market Towns to make the County Council accessible to all.
The relocation site was well underway but the Conservatives who only conserve outside Morpeth paid £millions to the contractor to buzz off the site.
The site, nicknamed the ‘Ashington Whole’ has been left in a state of flux ever since with Peter Jackson the then leader prior to his disgrace telling local young people that he would develop a cinema for them.
This, another forked tongue statement has led to the fear that the infamous Tory ‘Whole’ will remain undeveloped until and the potholes in the Town of Ashington left undone until a Labour administration holds office again at County Hall.
With a population twice as large as Morpeth https://www.citypopulation.de/en/uk/northeastengland/admin/northumberland/E04012233__ashington/ you would think something would be done to help the residents of this forgotten place and some equality and equity to nullify the inequalities doled out by Morpeth based leaders and deputy leaders are needed to fortify the Community Champions who graft day and night for this their Town.
The Ashington Whole site.
The ‘Whole’, hasn’t changed since abandonment in May 2017. With its high street Station Road in Ashington rapidly declining even when Labours planned and now in development return of passenger trains to Ashington eventually being rolling in massive investment is required to revitalise the area but without the will of its County Council and without a County plan that's not all about Morpeth then investment in the rail line will quickly fade and trains will be diverted from Bedlington Station into Morpeth as that rail line is also still intact. Is this the Tories unequal future plan? As the ‘Whole’ isn’t really a tourist attraction however much people from Ashington would love it to be.
Ashington’s ignored by its County Council high street
